Better for the Planet from Grape to Glass - Our Wine's Journey

Instead of shipping heavy filled glass bottles by road in a partially full container, our wine is now packaged in recycled flexi tanks and transported by lorry to the nearest port, located in Bilbao and Rivesaltes.
Our wines from Spain travel a short distance from Zaragoza to Bilbao, where it is then transferred to a ship for the remainder of the journey the UK. From France, Rivesaltes is already located on the southern French coastline, so this flexi tank barely travels on land before being loaded onto a ship. The journey then follows the Spanish coast, past Gibraltar before sailing past Portugal to reach the English Channel. Travelling by sea with minimal road transit instead of solely by road saves thousands of carbon emissions. Also, by sending our wines to Teesport instead of London Gateway we will be minimising the mileage to our bottling facility, reducing emissions wherever possible.
Once our wine has been unloaded from Teesport it is then transported by lorry to Greencroft Bottling, on the outskirts Durham. Here it will be decanted into 100% recycled aluminium cans and partially recycled, lightweight UK-produced glass.
Greencroft Bottling is a bottling and canning facility who pride themselves on being a sustainable business. They primarily use their three on-site wind turbines for energy and have implemented other sustainable measures such as solar panels, additional insulation, and LED lighting.
As soon as Greencroft has finished packaging our products, they are then distributed to our delivery hub located in Kettering. Using a more centralised hub means our wines travel less miles to get to your door. Here is where we will pack our cans into their respective recyclable cardboard cases, in preparation for our customers.
Our wines are now ready to send out to our customers, sip sustainably and enjoy!
